I just graduated with a BA in The Pursuit of Happiness: Writing, Technology, and Legal Theory from the University of Redlands, in Redlands California (South East of LA). I was in Johnston Center for Integrative Studies in which students design their own degrees.

I'm currently taking a year off before going to law school. Just got my LSAT scores back and I got a 170, so I'm pretty happy about that.I've been working on my personal statement and resume for the last few weeks. It has been much more difficult than I thought it would be as trying to fit the important things I want to say about my self in either two pages or four pages is really difficult. I think I should be able to send in my applications by the 8th of December 2009!

I was an active in a non-greek brotherhood for just over a year, as I joined the second semester of my junior year. It is a brother hood that focuses on Diversity, Social Justice, and Community Service.

I am pretty laid back in most cases but I am passionate about many things at the same time, though all to often I don't show it.

I am funny but not in the telling jokes kind of way, I just accidentally make people laugh. I like most types of humor. I am pretty sarcastic sometimes, depending on who I am with. I often make people laugh when I come up with ridiculous sounding ideas that actually make sense if you think deeply about them and have my type of logic.

I mostly took different classes in the humanities and usually contracted with professors to do creative writing for final projects. At the end of my college career I took several government classes and decided that I wanted to go to law school, which is what I had wanted to do before college, but I had lost my way.

I know a lot about computers, but not enough. I can put one together, fix most problems but I could always learn more.

I love to have fun. I also like to dance, have good conversations and romantic evenings out and about. Life is short so I say we should go for it and have a good time. I am at a point in my life where I need to become more social. It is so easy to become comfortable and just stay home. Not always a good thing because we all need people. I like meeting new and interesting people and would hope you would be the same. Hi! I would say that I am not crazy and not the stalker type. I have my life together and know what I don't want...no drama. I am honest and all about respect. The only thing more important than a relationship with a special someone is family, I very much believe in family and love all that comes with family life. In my free time I like to explore the rugged beauty of the Oregon coast and mountains. I enjoy going to the coast and taking in all the beauty. I love to explore the countryside on long distance bicycle rides. Summers in Oregon are a great time to get close to the wilderness, for me thatâ??s going camping at one of Oregonâ??s many state parks. I like to go boating, towing friends on inflatables or going fishing.

I like to attend classic car shows and see the customizing that people do to there cars. Classic cars have so much character that many newer cars lack. I have a 68 Chevy pickup which was my dads and I am working to restore it. I also like going to drag races, I would prefer to actually be racing instead of watching but watching races for now will have to do for now. I like to look for antiques at shops and yard sales. I also enjoy woodworking; I get a great sense of accomplishment from taking a unfinished piece of wood and turning it into a thing of beauty. I find working in my vegetable garden and yard to be quite relaxing, it gives you time to think while beautifying your surroundings.

I retired from the USAF in 2005 after serving 20 years. I was fortunate enough to be selected to become a flight engineer on cargo planes flying out of McChord AFB, WA From there I was able to travel and see the world while serving my country. I have been to numerous countries and will resume traveling again someday.

I am somewhat new to the area since I have only been back in Oregon since 2007. I grew up in Medford. Prior to moving here I was stationed at Andrews AFB, MD for eight years. Living in the Washington DC metro area was like living in hell, it was never quiet. I am so thankful to get back to west coast and Oregon. I'm really not sure I want anymore children, it would be like starting all over again. I would consider it if the right person came along. There is so much I want to do. I love to travel, to go camping, get in the car and just go somewhere. When we lived in South Dakota, one of my favorite things to do on the weekends was drive around the Black Hills all day. now that I'm older I think hiking around the Black hills all day would be more fun. I like going to the gym. though I cant say I'm a health nut... I diet on donuts! ha ha!

I am a very caring person, who was/is married to both a man and woman at the same time. They both knew about it all along, and we lived together for the past many years, and have been a loving family. It has been too long since I've been on a date. I'm thinking I might need to get a cat. Not a regular cat though. I want a lolcat. I want to know what my cat is thinking, bad grammar and all. Wait... no. I live in an apartment that doesn't allow pets.

It is strange for me to realize this, but I've become one of those guys who works all the time then goes home and falls asleep with the TV on. It usually happens to be something classy, sophisticated and educational... like Family Guy or Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Funny that the last girl I was serious with left me because I wasn't ambitious enough for her. She worked a part time job at a oil change joint. At the time I was going to school full time, but was unemployed and living on the GI bill. Now I seem to have turned into a bit of a workaholic. I think I might be rebelling against my own free spirit a bit.
I guess that's not entirely accurate. I am fairly active with my family. I am close with my sister and brother-in-law and my niece and nephew mean the world to me. Last weekend I dressed up as Boba Fett at my nephew's birthday party. I would have felt like a complete badass towering over a bunch of 7 year olds, except the costume I was wearing was a baby blue color. It is hard to feel tough in baby blue with or without a bounty hunter blaster at your side. I do still go out on weekends and get together with the guys and go fishing with my father; typical guy stuff I suppose. I stay busy enough that I don't feel lethargic. Once or twice a week I get together with my drummer and play some music. (I play guitar). We're hoping to get a band going, but frankly, I just like playing music and clearing my head.

I guess what I am looking for in doing this is plainly this: I want to start connecting to women again. I miss the thrill that happens on a first date when chemistry is good. Do you know what I mean? I'm talking about that nervous excitement that goes through every fiber of your being when the night ends with a good night kiss. Or, if I'm being honest, the agony of spending the evening with someone who causes your blood to rush to your head and not being sure if they're into you at all. Hopefully they are, but you have to admit that the thrill of not knowing is what causes the rush. In truth I see meeting women and dating in general as a bit of an amusement park ride. Sometimes you get to go on the roller coaster and sometimes you spend your time in the haunted house. In the end its all an experience and good or bad, that's what I want again; the experience. My hope is that I find someone who I can connect with and enjoy being around. A long term relationship would be ideal, but I'm a realist. Things happen, plans change and sometimes what once was nice falls apart. I think all of us have been through that before. My ultimate goal would be to find someone who I could see spending the rest of my life with, but don't worry. I won't be sizing anybody up for a ring on the first date. I guess I just want to be authentic about where I'm coming from.

I wouldn't be honest if I said that appearance didn't matter to me. I think to some degree there needs to be a physical attraction in any relationship. That's not to say that I discriminate though. I've dated a wide range of women when it comes to physical attributes. Some tall, some short, some athletic, some not. I definitely need to be attracted to you, but what I am saying is that I have no idea what aspect of yourself I will find attractive. I have a tendency (and aspiration) to try and see the best in someone. Sometimes it makes me come off as too trusting and naïve. I see it as a strength though.

I realize that this has now turned into more of a rant than a personal ad. Sorry for that. I have few pet peeves, i walk by a dusty monitor, or television screen and go... somebody needs to clean that. Then i draw on the screen with my finger(only moving the dust and not smearing it.) Then i realize what i have just done is a bad thing, and now i have to clean it up.

I like to think of myself as an artist, but even then with that word, it usually leads to me being a ok one at that. Nothing special, and nothing amazing.

*Fast cars.
*Good food. Almost any style or cuisine, as long as it's good.
*Cool art or pictures.
*Obscure trivia. I've yet to lose a game of Trivial Pursuit. I wish I could somehow parlay this into a high-paying job.
*Good books.
*Expensive musical toys.
*A good, quality beer, when accompanying a good meal.
*Hello Kitty and/or other excessively cute things. Especially when combined with violent and/or horror imagery. Culture-clash juxtaposition at it's finest.

Things I like (about people):
*A good sense of humour and the ability to laugh at themselves and others.
*Intelligence and the ability to hold an intelligent conversation.
*Tattoos and piercings. Though not so much that I can't tell what species you are anymore.
*Hair colours that aren't brown or blonde. Bonus points for a colour that looks like it belongs on a neon billboard in Vegas.
*Common sense and at least something resembling a sense of responsibility for your actions. This is exceedingly rare, I've found.
*An open mind.

Things I don't like (in general):
*Bad music. This isn't a genre, per se, but something that exists in every genre. It also describes a depressingly large amount of music that is distressingly popular.
*Heavy traffic.
*High-pollen days.
*Cigarette smoke.
*Coffee. It tastes like boiled socks to me.
*Cheap nasty beer, or drinking just to get drunk.
*Dogs.

Things I dislike (about people):
*Thin-skinned people who go out of their way to feel insulted by everything anyone around them says.
*Overly pushy and/or bombastic people.
*Superficiality.
*Lack of any individuality or personality.
*People who make no effort to do anything with themselves or their life.
*People who don't know what they want and are unwilling to make any sort of commitments.

Oddly, I feel a list like this gives a feeling for who I am better than most anything else I could write, so that's what you get.

I've mellowed in my old age and am trying to stop and smell the roses somewhat. So now I embrace all types of people, but especially tattooed chics on bikes, and pirate wenches (I'm kidding, of course.) I like to read, watch movies, work out, and do some free-lance writing when I have the time. I also play "old boy" rugby now and then. I used to be involved in the Irish community a lot, but not as much anymore. One can only organize so many St. Pat's parades, Bloomsdays, Famine Memorials, and Presidential visits.

I like someone who is intelligent, inquisitive, and well-read. If you tell me, "I have went to college and got a degree," that pretty much tells me you did not.

Im an easy going guy with a pretty even temperament. I like to joke around and be with people who can laugh at themselves and who don't take themselves too seriously. I'm certainly not the most politically correct person and I don't always say the right thing. Im far from perfect, but I'm always trying to find ways to improve myself.
